Chains vs Local Spots...What Say You?

🏙️My North Phoenix View

Quick local insight from your neighborhood’s front porch

There’s no shortage of places to eat around North Phoenix — but lately it feels like we’re getting more chains than mom-and-pop spots. Every time a new restaurant opens, someone in the group says, “Really? Another one of those?”

Don’t get me wrong, I like a solid Canes or Chipotle run as much as anyone. But it’s the local spots — the ones that know your order or serve food you can’t get anywhere else — that give a neighborhood personality.

Which Do You Prefer?

So, would you rather see more local restaurants open up, or do you think there’s room for both?

Here’s what else is moving and shaking around town.

A Message From Vice Mayor Ann O’Brien

The City of Phoenix has launched a new digital hub that centralizes accessibility resources for residents and visitors. The online portal contains resources offered by City departments, including Braille materials, assistive hearing devices, adaptive workstations, and more.

The hub also connects people with trusted organizations that support accessibility, inclusion, and independence. I hope you’ll share this important link with others—we want Phoenix to be welcoming and accessible to everyone!
