Waiting For The Right Home…

“I’ve only seen 1 home.” “I need to see more homes.” “It’s too early.” These are 3 things I often hear from homebuyers during the homebuying process.

You’ve seen one home, absolutely love it, and it has everything you need…but you’ve only seen 1 home so how could you be ready?

Why would you need to see more if the one you love has everything? To see more to know for sure the one you love has everything?

You said you were going to wait for lower rates, lower home prices, summer, whatever—and you have found the home you love but it is too early to buy. Why is it too early?

Here is the advice/answer: if you have found a home you love, it doesn’t matter when it occurs. There isn’t some manual that says you have to see 2 or 222 homes before you can buy.

When I bought my first home, I saw one home (actually I didn’t even want to go inside), and bought it. I didn’t need to see more. Why would I? In real estate, usually, there will almost always be another home. And had I waited I would have paid a higher rate, higher home price, lost out on incentives, been stuck in an apartment longer, etc.

Does that mean you should rush to buy? NO!!!!! But finding what you want/need/love isn’t rushing-it’s called finding what you want. Stop listening to critics/family members who tell you you need to keep looking or wait. Buy when you are ready.
