I recently interviewed the Deer Valley Votes 4 Kids Pac regarding the upcoming M&O Override— watch our interview or read the blog here! That conversation got me thinking about school choice overall… especially charter schools.

One of the biggest factors in buying a home was always the school district and/or school. Families wanted to live within certain boundaries, and that often drove their decisions.

Here in Arizona, open enrollment changed the game. Families now have options, so the exact location of a home isn’t as tied to school choice as it once was.

Some people think charter schools are bad. Others love them. I’m personally a fan of options. Are charters taking away from public schools? Maybe. But I still think they serve a purpose — because not every public school is the right fit for every kid.
